Aquila 144c Ambra 2000 Historical set Light tension
Very special set
Very special set
Since 10 days I have these on my main guitar (cedar top, fan brace). The guitar sounds very round and balanced. Transitions between the strings are smooth and also the high E string does not stick out, as is common in many other sets.
The tone is not overly bright but does contain a lot of overtones. For a low tension string these play a pretty good forte. My children closed the door when I tried. Playing is easy - comparable to a typical low tension set like e.g. D'Addario EJ43. In my experience these strings work very well for Dowland, Mertz, Sor and Tarrega. I will be ordering more Ambra strings in future.
High recommendation.
