I'm rich now

I bought these gold coloured strings to match the gold hardware on my Warwick Thumb Special bass. The result is a gorgeous looking bass. The upside is also that the strings sound great and feel great. That is, they produce a rather bright sound with plenty upper mids and zing. So if you're looking for vintage sounds, stay clear of these. I remember having gold strings on an acoustic bass ages ago and didn't like them very much because they felt rough. Not with these though. They are a bit rougher than your average nickle wound roundwound string, but not by much. Not as rough as steels for example. String tension is fine, more to the tight side than to the loose side. I am happy and I ensured my kids now stay away from the bass because they think it is worth a ton :-)
