D'Addario EJ45FF Pro-Arté Carbon, Dynacore Basses, Normal Tension
Blues on carbon strings?
Blues on carbon strings?
Nylon stringed Spanish guitars cannot produce Delta Blues sounds like a steel stringed resonator. If Spanish guitars are all you have, and you do want a better Blues&slide sound, you improvise. As I did, by stuffing strips of alu foil in the body. It didn't do much good. So I tried something else. I was raised on nylon, but nowadays there is more. As carbon is the new magic (unless in the atmosphere) I purchased one set of D'Addario EJ45FF Pro-Arté Carbon, Dynacore Basses, Normal Tension and a set of Oasis GX1000N GPX Carbon Normal Tension Basses HT trebles from Lordofthestrings for my two Spanish guitars (one tuned in open D, one in open G).
Very happy with the D'Addario set and a bit less with the Oasis one, which also wore out quite rapidly, I later purchased two more D'Addario EJ45FF carbon sets from Lordofthestrings. Which arrived by mail as pronto as the first order did. Now both guitars are carbonised and happily do Blues&slide. The first D'Addario'd one still on its first set. They're a tough bunch.
